1st award: creating and performing residencies – 2 winners

A jury comprised of majors figures will award two creating and performing residency.

Each winner may choreograph a 20 minute performance for 10 to 20 dancers during a three week residency with either the Ballet de l’Opéra national de Bordeaux (Bordeaux National Opera Ballet) or the CCN/ Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin.

Each Ballet company will provide from 10 to 20 dancers, a rehearsal studio, personnel needed for reception, making costumes and accessories, and lighting design (no decor… or very little).

Each creation will be performed in Bordeaux and during the official season of the CCN Ballet Opéra National du Rhin. The cost of the sets and promoting the performances will be covered by the Ballets and their partners. In each city, the host Ballet may add to the programme.

Biarritz Award – 1 winner

A jury comprised of majors figures will award €15.000 to one choreographer or company.

Professionals’ Award – 1 winner

A jury comprised of dance critics and theatre directors will award the Professionals’ Prize to the choreographer of its choice which includes a €3,000 grant.

Audience’s Award – 1 winner

The audience will be invited to vote at the end of the competition and will award the Audience’s Prize to the choreographer of its choice which also includes a €3,000 grant.
