Bruno Bouché

Artistic Director CCN - Ballet de l'Opéra national du Rhin

Artistic Director of the CCN-Ballet de l'Opéra national du Rhin since 2017. He joined the corps de ballet of the Opéra national de Paris in 1996, and was appointed Sujet in 2002. He danced under the direction of Brigitte Lefèvre until 2014, performing works by George Balanchine, Pina Bausch, Maurice Béjart, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, José Martinez, Rudolf Noureev, Roland Petit, Angelin Preljocaj, Laura Scozzi, Tino Sehgal and Saburo Teschigawra. From 1999 to 2017, he directed the Incidence Chorégraphique company, which produces works by dancers from the Paris Opera and independent artists. He has choreographed works for the company since 2003, including Bless-ainsi soit-Il, Nous ne cesserons pas and From the Human Body. He collaborated with JR on his film Les Bosquets. He created Between light and nowhere (2016) at the Suzanne Dellal Center in Tel Aviv. In 2013, he took over the direction of the festival Les Synodales in Sens and the contemporary choreographic competition for young companies. For the Opéra national de Paris he created SOI-Ătman and Music for Pieces of Wood (2013), Yourodivy (2014), Amores 4 and Dance Musique 3-2-1(2015), Undoing World (2017). In 2014-2015, he led the Dix mois d'école et d'Opéra project and created Ça manque d'amour. During the 2015/2016 season, he took part in the Académie de Chorégraphie at the Opéra national de Paris (directed by Benjamin Millepied). 

He choreographed Clément Hervieu Léger's productions of Monsieur de Pourceaugnac with William Christie and Les Arts Florissant, Une dernière soirée de Carnaval (Théâtre les Bouffes du Nord) and La Cerisaie (Comédie Française). He was awarded the Grand Prix de la critique for choreographic personality of the year 2018. For his latest creation Offrande (2021), Mié Coquempot invited him and Béatrice Massin to choreograph the musical Offrande by J-S Bach. 

With the Ballet de l'Opéra national du Rhin, he created Fireflies (2018), 40D in homage to Eva Kleinitz (2019), Les Ailes de désir (2021), L'Œuvre qui va suivre (2023) with the painter Silvère Jarrosson for the Musée Unterlinden in Colmar, On achève bien les chevaux (2023) with Clément Hervieu-Léger and Daniel San Pedro and Pour le reste (2024). He is an Officier des Arts et des Lettres.
